So I’m three days into exercising again and I wish I had never stopped. It’s not that I love the gym that much but rather how much it sucks to get your body use to exercise. I felt so good while actually in the gym and exercising but now I’m hurting. My muscles are hating me right now. I know the first week is the worst so at least it won’t get any harder from here on out.
On the plus side I’ve been able to convince my roommate/friend to start coming to the gym with me. He’s been talking about how he wants to be healthier and get in shape but I’m not sure he’s really committed to it. I’m going to make him stick with it though, no matter how much he complains about his muscles hurting. I just have to get him to stop buying chips now. He’ll thank me later just like I will thank myself for sticking with my exercise and healthy eating.
Being healthy is a lifestyle choice that I’ve made before and loved but it’s so easy to fall into bad habits like I did recently. Those habits made me sleep terribly and feel gross which is why I’m getting back on track. I also forgot how much I enjoy writing this blog, even if only a few people read it. This is more for me then is it for anyone else but if it helps someone else feel motivated to be healthier themself, then I’m happy that I helped. As long as I remember that fitness is a long-term thing that takes time to see results, I’ll be ok. I just have to be patient and stick with it and I know I’ll succeed.
It’s been a long time since I posted on here and I plan on changing that. I fell off the bandwagon when it comes to exercise for the last couple of months and I had a lot of trouble motivating myself to go to the gym. I got stuck in a rut where I felt like I wasn’t getting any results and I think part of that is because I didn’t have any particular goals that I wanted to achieve but that has changed now.
Yesterday was my first day seriously getting back into the gym. I’ve gone once or twice a week over the last few months but not enough to say that I was really going and committing to being healthy. I have a goal now which is to prepare for the PARE test. I’m still in university but once I graduate I plan on entering law enforcement and the PARE is a test of your physical abilities that you have to complete to become a police officer.
Now that I have something to work for I feel more motivated than ever before which is exciting. Not only am I working on bettering myself but I’m also working towards a goal in something that I want to do. This blog is going to help me stay on track when the going gets tough and keep me on task with exercise and healthy eating.
So I guess you could say I’m back. I know I’ve said that before but this time I really mean it.
I’m so glad that summer is finally here. Where I live it seems to have been raining constantly for weeks and even when it was calling for sun, it still seemed to rain.
With the lovely weather that we have gotten this week, I took advantage of it and went for my first 5km outside run of the year. It felt amazing to feel the terrain moving past me instead of just staring at the same spot on the wall while running on the treadmill. I also went for a nice 20km bike ride yesterday with my dad. It was a really great way to end Fathers Day.
I hope everyone is working hard and pushing towards their fitness goals and that you’re using the summer weather as encouragement to work even harder! Don’t forget to have some fun with family and friends though 🙂
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted a blog and that’s mostly because I lacked motivation and inspiration to write one. I’ve been quite busy with my new job but I intend to write on a more consistent basis.
So an update on my workout plan that I started. I actually ended up starting over after a couple of weeks because some personal life events got in the way and I was barely working out and eating right so I came to a stand still as far as weight percentage goes. I’ve been hitting the gym 7 days a week now which I love and only in the last couple of days or so have I actually gotten back on track with eating the proper things. I didn’t actually gain any weight while I wasn’t working out or eating but I sure didn’t feel as good as I do now.
Don’t count on me posting every day but I’m sure to have much more content here in the future!
Now that university exams have finished, I decided that I really want to focus on my fitness and get myself to the best that I can be this summer so I’ve done some looking and I’ve found a fitness plan that should set me on the right path to reach my goals.
My goals are pretty simple. I’m not going for size, I’m going for strength and a tone body. I want usable muscle that’s not only going to make me look good and feel good, but is actually going to be useful.
I got my fitness plan from bodybuilding.com which is my go to website for pretty much everything fitness related and I also buy all of my supplements there too.
If you’re interested in checking out the plan I’m using Click Here
I’ll be posting updates throughout my 12 week program and I’ll post final pictures of my results in the end.
Now that exams are over and the summer has begun, you can expect some more regular content on my blog again. I’m sorry about the delay but school takes priority!
Recently I did a review on the Fitbit Surge and I thought it would be a good idea to review the app as well since it is where you can actually see the data that is collected by your Fitbit.
The Fitbit app is available on IOS and Android and if you don’t own a smartphone, there is also a desktop dashboard that you can install and use.
Once your Fitbit has synced with the app or dashboard, it easily lets you see the all of the stats that are available in an easy to read format. You can also track calories eaten by imputing the food that you’ve eaten and you can track how much water you have to drink to meet your daily goals.
For the goals you can either create them yourself or use the default goals that the app provides you. You can also connect with other Fitbit users and add them as friends to easily share results among each other. The Fitbit app also easily syncs with other fitness apps that you have on your phone that you’ve already been using. I personally use My Fitness Pal to track my food and that is then connect to my Fitbit app and they work together.
I haven’t found any flaws with the app at all and I highly recommended it. It works very well with the Fitbit devices (as it should).
