Don’t be Afraid of the Gym

A lot of people are afraid of going to the gym.  I understand that because I use to be one of those people but there is really no reason to be afraid. The way the gym is shown on TV and in movies makes it look like a place full of ripped guys that love nothing more then to bully and intimidate the new guy or gal at the gym which couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Sure when you go to the gym you’re going to see the ripped guys, but you’re also going to see people who are starting at the gym for the first time just like you who are probably just as nervous as you are. You’re also going to see those at all the different stages inbetween. Generally people at the gym are approachable and friendly so don’t be scared if one comes up to you because they probably just want to introduce themselves and you never know, you may make a new friend.

If you are absolutely terrified of going by yourself, convince some friends to go along with you. There is power in numbers and it may be something new for you and your friends to do in the evening instead of playing video games every time you get together.

At least give yourself the chance and try the gym. You may like it or you may not but you’ll never know until you try!
