Wanting to live a more healthy, active lifestyle takes more than just exercising every once and a while or eating right only one day per week. To achieve your goals and achieve a healthy lifestyle, you need to be consistent in your actions so that they not only become a healthy habit but that they also lead to healthy results.
Let’s start with exercise. It’s great to go to the gym and get exercise but to get results in either muscle definition or weight loss, you need to be going to the gym more then you’re not. Be consistent and create a specific time that fits in with your daily schedule and make yourself go to the gym just like you would make yourself go to a doctor’s appointment. If you go often enough for long enough, it’ll become a healthy habit that you’re not going to want to shake!
The next thing you need to think about is food. In our busy lives it is often way to easy too convince ourselves to just grab food in a drive-thru on our way to something then it is to take the time to prepare healthy food for ourselves. We’re often tired at the end of a long work day and it may be hard enough to make ourselves go to the gym, let alone make supper. If you find that you have no time to make food during the week, try to prepare some healthy meals ahead of time on the weekend and put them in the freezer. When you need them you can either take them out the night before to thaw and heat them up in the microwave the next day.
It’s also super important to track what we’re eating either in an app or a notebook so that way we know what we’ve eaten already that day and to drink lots of water. Often when you’re feeling hungry, you’re actually thirsty. It makes you think about what you’re eating and is a great way to stop ourselves from taking in access calories.
