New Fitness Plan

Now that university exams have finished, I decided that I really want to focus on my fitness and get myself to the best that I can be this summer so I’ve done some looking and I’ve found a fitness plan that should set me on the right path to reach my goals.

My goals are pretty simple. I’m not going for size, I’m going for strength and a tone body. I want usable muscle that’s not only going to make me look good and feel good, but is actually going to be useful.

I got my fitness plan from bodybuilding.com which is my go to website for pretty much everything fitness related and I also buy all of my supplements there too.

If you’re interested in checking out the plan I’m using Click Here

I’ll be posting updates throughout my 12 week program and I’ll post final pictures of my results in the end.

Fitbit App/Dashboard Review

Recently I did a review on the Fitbit Surge and I thought it would be a good idea to review the app as well since it is where you can actually see the data that is collected by your Fitbit.

The Fitbit app is available on IOS and Android and if you don’t own a smartphone, there is also a desktop dashboard that you can install and use.

Once your Fitbit has synced with the app or dashboard, it easily lets you see the all of the stats that are available in an easy to read format. You can also track calories eaten by imputing the food that you’ve eaten and you can track how much water you have to drink to meet your daily goals.

For the goals you can either create them yourself or use the default goals that the app provides you. You can also connect with other Fitbit users and add them as friends to easily share results among each other. The Fitbit app also easily syncs with other fitness apps that you have on your phone that you’ve already been using. I personally use My Fitness Pal to track my food and that is then connect to my Fitbit app and they work together.

I haven’t found any flaws with the app at all and I highly recommended it. It works very well with the Fitbit devices (as it should).

Fitbit Surge Review

If you guys and gals are anything like me, there’s something that makes a workout even more satisfying when you can see stats at the end. It gives us something to look at after a long workout and something for us to compare ourselves to in the future. The Fitbit Surge is what I use during my workouts and everyday life.

Fitbit Surge

The Fitbit Surge is a great product but it does have a few downfalls that I’ll get to in a minute.

Pros

  • GPS tracking for outside runs and hikes
  • Heart rate monitoring
  • Tracks steps, stairs and other daily activities
  • Automatically detects when you begin doing an activity
  • Long Battery life ( I get around 6 days with everyday regular use)
  • Notifications of texts and phone calls when linked with smartphone
  • Can be used to control music
  • Tracks your sleeping patterns
  • Syncs via Bluetooth to the Fitbit app

Cons

  • Can be somewhat uncomfortable to wear if worn with long sleeves
  • Is somewhat bulky
  • Its steep price of 329.95 Canadian

For the most part I’m very happy with my Fitbit and I think it has really pushes me to perform when I’m working out. It pushes me to do just five more minutes of cardio or to do just one more set when I’m lifting. I can’t imagine my workout without it!

I’m getting into exam time for my university courses and that might mean that there are some days that I simply don’t have the time or mental energy to think of something to talk about. It’s only  going to be for the next few weeks and then we’ll be back to normal.

Thanks for following my blog and I appreciate all the feedback that I recieve!

Musclepharm Combat Crunch Bar

When I made my last supplement order, I decided to order one of these protein bars to try and I absolutely loved it! Not only is full of protein but it’s also gluten free. The perfect after workout snack!

They make six different flavours. I tried the chocolate peanut butter cup and it was really tasty. The only thing I wish was different is that the peanut butter taste isn’t very strong and I really love the taste of peanut butter so I would like that flavour to be stronger.

This isn’t an everyday treat though because of its high fat content and its steep price at 3.71 Canadian a bar but it is defiantly a delicious and healthy treat to be enjoyed occasionally!
